Improved Storage

Increased Storage Space

There are several storage containers that have had their storage space increased to help out our players. You can find the list of containers below along with their storage multiplier.

  • Small Crate (2x)
  • Large Crate (2x)

Toggleable Bulk Sorting

Bulk containers on Sklotopolis have the option to sort items by quality (items are categorized into groups of 10ql). By default, sorting is enabled on all supported containers (cratesbulk storage binfood storage bin). Sorting can be disabled by right clicking a bulk containers and using the disable sorting option, which will put (unsorted) behind the container's name. Once disabled, sorting can be re-enabled using the enable sortingoption, which will put (sorted) behind the container's name.

Distribution Boxes

An automated box, designed to hand out items. A distribution box is a container very similar to the large chest, with options to let other players take or insert items from/into it.

Creation

A distribution box can be started by using a ribbon on a plank. It requires fine carpentry skill and is slightly more difficult to create than a large chest.

The total materials required are:

  • 5 planks
  • 5 ribbons
  • 2 small nails

Setting Up

Before the distribution functionality can be used, it is required to set up the box with the Change settings action, which should bring up a window with the following settings:

Grab interval: How long a player needs to wait after taking an item from the box, before that player can take another item. Setting this to 'Never' disables the grab action. The timer will always reset after a server restart.

Insert interval: How long a player needs to wait after inserting an item into the box, before that player can insert another item. Setting this to 'Never' disables the insert action. The timer will always reset after a server restart.

Hide item names: Enabling this setting will hide the name of the item that was grabbed/inserted from all players except the player who took it. This can be useful if you don't want other players to know which items were inserted/taken, for example, when the box is used as part of a game.

Share interval between players with the same SteamID: Enabling this setting will share timers between players with the same SteamID. This means that if one player takes an item, they will not be able to take another item with an alt-character until that player's grab/insert timer has expired.

Like the red text on top of the settings window says, be sure to lock your distribution box! Unlocked distribution boxes can have their settings changed (and items stolen) by anyone!

Usage

Once the box is set up, items can be taken with the grab action or inserted with the insert action. Whether these actions can be done (and how often) depends on what settings the box owner has entered.
